Jason Sharpe is an American artist and photographer who has lived and worked in Norway since 2010. His background spans film, music, and fashion, and his artistic path has evolved through decades of visual practice shaped by image-making, editing, and concept development.
Beginning his career in music marketing and later working in New York’s fashion industry, Sharpe developed a nuanced understanding of image, emotion, and cultural context. His credits as a producer include editorial collaborations published in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, i-D, and Numéro, and he has served as a creative consultant for clients including Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo, Oscar de la Renta, H&M, and Victoria’s Secret.
After relocating to Norway, Sharpe co-founded the brand L&J, where he served as designer and creative director, and later became the first menswear designer for Holzweiler, contributing to the development of their international collections. Over time, his focus gradually shifted away from commercial production toward a more contemplative photographic practice, informed by years of working with image construction, pacing, and visual authorship.
More recently, Sharpe’s focus has shifted increasingly toward long-form photographic projects developed through sustained engagement with a subject or environment. His current work moves between studio and field-based photography and often explores atmosphere, structure, and the emotional tension between clarity and ambiguity.
